We had a really good time here, and the kids were free, even our 12 year old, which was a nice surprise. The staff were friendly, and there's plenty to see in the museum. Some exhibits aren't translated, so if you don't speak French you might miss some of the information. The kids still loved the interactive displays despite not understanding French. The château and its grounds are beautiful, and you could easily spend the whole day there. Well worth visiting.

Even in the rain, walking along the castle walls and taking in the architecture made the visit memorable. The château is impressive, with a wonderful atmosphere and so much history. It's a beautiful historic site and a must see in Nantes. Highly recommended.

The castle has been restored nicely, and the staff are discreet but helpful. The modest entrance fee felt low for all the information and artefacts on display. It gives you a very good understanding of Nantes' history as well as France's. Worth a visit.

The ramparts are free to walk, with lovely views over the city and castle grounds. Outside, the site has imposing medieval walls, while inside the courtyard there's a beautiful palace. The local history museum is inside, and the old moat is now a quiet public park.

The castle grounds and ramparts make for a very pleasant walk, and you can watch ducks swimming in the moat. Lots of people picnic around the castle, too. Entry to the castle grounds is free, though the museum needs a ticket and is well worth seeing. The pretty streets nearby have plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants, so you could easily spend half a day in the area.
