After we got home, we read other travelers’ reviews and saw that they mentioned the same problems. In response to your reply, we should have taken photos of the green “pool,” the dust on the shelves, and the dust bunnies beside and under the bed. Maybe then you would have understood. My mother’s health did require us to leave early. We didn’t damage anything, and we were polite. The way you put people down is simply very clumsy. We had planned a two-night stop, but a relative’s health issue cut it short. I understand that a last-minute cancellation is unpleasant for an owner, but evidence is needed to support our claims, and a partial refund would have been acceptable. The room wasn’t clean: it hadn’t been dusted or vacuumed. Getting to the first floor was hard for someone with reduced mobility, and we couldn’t use the pool because the water had turned sour in the heat. The owners hadn’t planned for this. Breakfast was meager. The one good point was being close to the city centre.

Your reply seems aimed at winning over future customers by portraying us as “troublemakers.” What we reported is true, including the lack of access for people with reduced mobility. The room was very small, dusty throughout, and described as having a “garden view” (see photo). Even the electric shutter was dirty. The pool was more like a footbath and unusable because it wasn’t maintained. Breakfast was very basic, and finding a street parking space takes a lot of luck. AVOID. NOT ACCESSIBLE FOR PEOPLE WITH REDUCED MOBILITY. YOU CAN EASILY FIND BETTER ELSEWHERE.

Our brief stay at La Maison Narbonnaise left us delighted. The host greeted us warmly and was very hospitable, and breakfast was generous. I’d happily recommend it.

The owner was friendly, and arriving late was no problem. Our room and bed were small, though breakfast was decent and made with fresh products. The strong dog smell throughout the house was the real issue, and we found it very unpleasant.

The rooms are on the small side, but they’re perfectly adequate if you’re spending a few days in Narbonne. The welcoming owner makes breakfast herself and is lovely to chat with, especially about Roman history. The place is near the city centre.
