WAYA à Domaine Saint Domingue

We came across this place while planning a trip to the south of France, and it ended up being the best place we stayed on vacation. The property felt magical, and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. The owner and staff made us feel welcome, and breakfast was delicious. They even helped us get a reservation at a gastronomic restaurant in Narbonne. It’s convenient for local attractions, wineries, and scenic towns nearby. We’d definitely stay again. Jan and his team deserve ten stars if I could give them!

We had such a relaxing stay at WAYA à Domaine Saint Domingue and are already planning to return. The serene lake was a highlight, especially for sitting with a glass of wine, and the surrounding fields were lovely for a leisurely ride on the provided bikes. It’s a charming country house about a 15-minute drive from Narbonne, run by a lovely Dutch couple and their adorable baby. There are eight cozy rooms, two pools, one of them heated, and expansive gardens. The owners made us feel truly welcome, and breakfast was fantastic, especially the best French croissants. A peaceful escape with friendly hosts and a great breakfast. Highly recommended.

The online booking pictures are lovely, but the place is even better in person. Jan and Cynthia welcomed us warmly throughout our stay, right up to our reluctant departure. Jan’s passion for this charming inn really shows. Our room, number 1, was spacious and comfortable, tastefully decorated, and had a huge, comfortable king-sized bed. Every morning there was a wonderful breakfast in the casual but sophisticated common room. One evening we had the appetizer platter, beautifully presented, and dessert. We also walked around the large property to see the lake and local sheep, and enjoyed a bike ride on the nearby Canal du Midi.

Jan and Cynthia made us feel at home straight away, and went out of their way to make our too-short stay a pleasure. Their welcome was the highlight of our visit. WAYA à Domaine Saint Domingue is a calm, beautiful boutique hotel, well suited to people passing through or wanting to explore this interesting part of France. The old buildings have been carefully restored, our room was spacious and comfortable, and the extensive grounds are lovely for a stroll or a rest. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, and we look forward to visiting again soon.
