A handy stop for crossing France, with Puy de Dome just a few kilometres away. Lac Aydat is further, about 20km, if you want to swim. The food was very good and the rooms decent, though the room at the front got a bit noisy with morning traffic.

The meal was really good, and the rooms are small but comfortable. It's close to Puy de Dôme, and there are ground-floor rooms for disabled access. Best to check when you book.

The place is a stunning old establishment dating back to 1825. The food was delicious, and the service excellent.

The food was unexpectedly high quality. You can't judge a book by its cover.
