Hotel Kyriad Nemours

There was no heating when we arrived, and we were told it had been broken for a long time. Nobody had warned customers. They gave us a broken electric heater, but it wasn’t enough for all the rooms. Is a refund possible?

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the price seemed fair for the season. Our room was a bit too warm for Easter, so we asked to move to one facing the motorway where we could open the window. Finding the hotel entrance from outside the motorway was difficult. At night, without Google Maps, it would have been impossible, since our car GPS kept directing us onto the motorway. The room was okay, though the corners weren’t very clean, it could use renovation and some decoration, and there weren’t many electric outlets.

The morning receptionist was lovely, and after telling us to find our own taxi, she eventually found one for us. By the time it arrived, it already cost 10 euros, so keep that in mind. There’s no taxi service running, and the place is in the middle of nowhere, so it seems meant for travelers. Breakfast was terrible. The rooms don’t lock properly and could be broken into easily. There was no WiFi; we were told to use the Autogrill WiFi, but it barely worked. It’s a run-down Travelodge.

The sheets were clean and the staff were nice, but the room smelled damp, like an old basement, and didn’t feel cosy. The walls are thin, so you hear everyone, and it gets noisy. There’s no WiFi that works: the Autogrill connection is usually down. The rooms don’t lock properly either. Getting there from the city is hard to figure out on Google. Unless you ask for directions, you’ll have to pay for the highway.
