Résidence Goélia Aquaresort

Cracks are visible all around the buildings in this residence, and it doesn't inspire confidence. Following up on Goelia's response: I'd suggest taking a walk around the residence. You don't need to be an expert to see how extensive the cracks are.

The apartments are spacious, the balcony is a real plus, and the residence staff are attentive. It's also ideally placed near the lovely center of Nérac. The nearby Ludoparc water park was a downside for us. Reception was deplorable, and hygiene was extremely poor.

The location worked well for getting around Nérac on foot, and we didn't need the car during the stay except to shop for groceries at the large Intermarché supermarket, 2.5 km away. There isn't much else nearby beyond town, apart from a few small fortified villages, though the region is pretty. The water park is only about a 3-minute walk away, despite comments saying it's too far, and we had a pass for the aquatic center. The idea is nice, but the crowds coming and going every day and the people there make it a real breeding ground for undesirable elements, in every sense. It's run-down, the water is murky, and we even found a condom. Our welcome was extraordinary and friendly, and the arrangements for checking in outside normal hours were convenient. The residences are very nice, but I can't give them five stars because there was no fan or air conditioning in 45-degree heat in the shade. With a 6-year-old and an 18-month-old baby, the stay was quite unpleasant. The room where he slept wasn't really a room, but a closet-like cabin with two bunk beds, like at ski resorts. Except ski resorts are cold, and this cubicle was an oven. I booked two weeks at Goélia, and my opinion is very mixed. Fifteen days is far too long for this place.

The apartment was clean and quite spacious, though it could have used air conditioning on the hottest days. The water park was a real bonus, with a river, several slides, and a hot tub. My children had a blast. The residence is quiet and close to the charming town.
