Au Logis des Arts

We were shown a spacious room with a lovely bathroom for an extra charge. The building itself is beautiful and clearly well looked after. The owner welcomed us warmly and gave us very good advice about which restaurant to choose. Breakfast was generous, with delicious homemade jams. We'd happily return.

The piano and fireplace made the evenings feel especially enchanting, and the whole weekend was wonderfully relaxing. We felt at home, thanks to the friendly welcome, and had an excellent breakfast. Our room was clean and the surroundings peaceful. We were so comfortable that we'll definitely come back.

Shameful. We learned on the day we left that the owner was closing the guesthouse. Maybe it couldn't make money, but that doesn't excuse putting us in such a dump. She placed us in an old apartment, and we had no wish to stay there. I'm not even getting into the rundown condition, smell, or decor. The shower curtain in the bathroom was black with grime. Breakfast had already been prepared before we arrived, and the pool and jacuzzi couldn't be used. How does a place like this end up in a Smartbox “Castles and Mansions” package? The owner is dishonest. I'm calling Smartbox.

I'm calling Wonderbox today. How does this place qualify for a package about castles and beautiful residences? We paid an extra €20 for what was described as a studio with a kitchenette, living area, and private bathroom. In reality, it had an old sofa, a microwave that looked like it belonged to my grandmother, and a shower curtain with a mushroom growing at the bottom. The exterior and breakfast weren't any better. Shameful!
