The host was really friendly, and the chateau on the grounds is impressive. We also liked the pool, but quite a few things in the house need attention. There wasn’t enough seating in the lounge for our whole group to sit together, and the upstairs bedrooms have no mirrors. Those bedrooms are also hard to access, with tiny spaces we had to crawl into, which should be made clear in advance. The upstairs shower door needs fixing, and the bathroom ceilings should be cleared of dead flies. We found contact lens wrappers left by previous guests in our room. In the kitchen, more tea towels would help. It should also have enough washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, and fresh sponges for a week. Reusing old sponges may save money, but it didn’t feel hygienic. Pool time slots shouldn’t be so restricted, and there should be umbrellas for shade. Asking guests not to use sunscreen is unacceptable, especially since children can’t be out in the sun that long without it.

I found this place while looking for where American soldiers had once stayed. The owner was friendly and let us take photos, then showed us one of the rooms inside. It’s a beautiful, incredible castle, and I’d definitely consider staying there in the future.

The chateau is great and deserves support after the fire. It’s an exceptionally peaceful place, aside from the occasional occupants of other properties who get drunk and party. Pool time slot management could be stricter.

I was very annoyed with NOVASOL and wouldn’t recommend this property because of the poor communication before we arrived. I contacted them at least four times with a specific question, but their replies never addressed it. A few days before arrival, I asked for the email address of the person meeting us at the property. They said they couldn’t get it for me because they weren’t the renter. I couldn’t believe that response.

The pool rota wasn’t managed or enforced very well. Still, the place is great, the people running it are nice, and we’d book again.
