La Ferme des Prés felt like a place where life carries on at its own pace. We got there late in the day, and the hosts greeted us warmly, without any fuss. Animals were all around: a dog came over to investigate, a horse looked up from the meadow, and the morning brought the buffalo, horses, pigs, goats, dogs, and cats. The owners are farmers and livestock breeders who clearly care about their work, yet still made time to check that we were comfortable. At night, the quiet had its own sounds, and morning light came gently into the room. I’d read comments about smells and flies before arriving, but what I noticed was the scent of hay and dusty paths, and the countryside breathing. A fly might pass by, and you do need to watch your head on the stairs. That’s part of being on a farm, and it didn’t bother me. When the season’s right, there’s a calm pool overlooking the meadows. The Wi-Fi is enough to stay connected, while still letting you switch off. I left with a sense of peace. La Ferme des Prés is a genuine, considerate place, and I’d recommend it to people who appreciate nature and places with a soul.

The peaceful night and comfortable bed stood out, and the room was very nice, with a functional shower room. Dinner was carefully made with local Berry produce, and breakfast was generous with everything we needed. We were welcomed by a young couple who kept checking whether we were happy or needed anything. Their effort to make guests feel good came through in every part of the stay. It would feel dishonest to criticize the welcome, room, dinner, or breakfast. Well done to you both, and keep up the warm welcome and excellent service.

The old-fashioned bathroom had one of those shower curtains that sticks to you. We were only stopping for a night and just needed to sleep, but a foul smell in the hallway seeped into the room and made that very unpleasant.

Solene made the horseback riding outing even nicer by sharing her stories and experiences. The horses were friendly and felt safe to ride. We also found the guest rooms comfortable, and meals at the inn led to some lovely encounters. A great place for people who love animals and nature. 🐎🐕🐈⬛🐷🐐😊

It’s a lovely green area with walking trails, and it’s great that pets can stay for free. I agree with other reviews about the air fresheners, though. They aren’t needed when the natural air around the place is so much nicer.
