Gîte Les Gentianes

The cottage we chose was Les Lilas, the largest, and it worked brilliantly for our three couples and five children. There was room for everyone, and the facilities were fantastic: excellent beds, big modern bedrooms and bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen with everything needed to cook, and a large fridge that was especially useful for a big group. We also had garden tables, loungers, and bathrobes, a welcome touch in the fresh Cantal air. Baby gear was all there, including chairs, a playpen, and two beds, plus two washing machines. The welcome gift was very nice and much appreciated. The setting was great for families. The granddaughters loved the garden and trampoline, the pool, the village playground, and fishing in the nearby river. The nearby Auvergne museum was suitable for children and enjoyable for adults too. In the village, there's a wonderful butcher worth visiting. We also loved market day, when a charming man gave the children a free pony and cart ride, something you wouldn't see on the Côte d'Azur. The Lioran ski resort is close by as well. Cantal is breathtakingly beautiful, and a welcome place to be when there's a heatwave elsewhere. The days feel lively and we slept well at night. We'll definitely come back. This cottage has lots of quality features and is perfectly located for families.

We had a fantastic 15-day holiday in the heart of Cantal. The cottage is beautiful and has superb amenities. We were welcomed so warmly, with surprises waiting in the fridge when we arrived.
