Best Western Plus Nice Cosy Hôtel

The room was in terrible shape. It was so small that only one person could fit in the bathroom, and there was nowhere to change. The bathroom handle was broken, the hair dryer shut off after 15 seconds and needed time to cool, and the AC didn't work. Wood by the closet and floor was broken, the room door seemed ancient, and the shower wouldn't switch properly. Water backed up and ran all the way onto the carpet. We were told there were no rooms available to move us for the night. The staff team were helpful, though a few people had an attitude. A receptionist called at 11:59 a.m. to tell me, as if I owed her something, that we had to leave at noon. She also told us to keep our dog on a leash in the hotel. This doesn't meet Best Western's minimum standard. The place needs renovation urgently. It was my first and last stay.

We had booked and paid in full through Expedia for three nights for two adults and three small babies. Expedia's policy says children under 12 can stay free using existing beds, so we booked for two adults. The room was big enough for us, and we didn't need a family room. When we arrived, the hotel refused to check us in and pressured us to pay for another room. They cited unclear, inconsistent policies they couldn't properly identify, vaguely referring to security and insurance. They didn't offer baby cots or extra beds for an added charge, but still insisted we buy another room. Expedia called several times to negotiate for us. The receptionist and manager were rude, aggressive, and completely uncooperative. There was no solution, refund, or goodwill, just pressure to pay more. We won't stay here or at any Best Western again.

The soundproofing is awful, practically nonexistent. We could hear everything, even pigeons on the roof. There was dust in the closet and on the lamps, the closet door was broken, and the hair dryer didn't work. It may look like a lovely four-star hotel, but to me it's one star. I don't recommend it.

I couldn't get any rest here. You hear everything from nearby rooms, including people talking, and loud machines start up in the morning. There's no sound insulation at all. I also couldn't use the wardrobe because its door was broken.
