Club Inn

I’m back at Club Inn for a second stay, this time coming and going over 2-3 weeks because I left it too late to reserve the whole time. The price is more than reasonable, and the location is fabulous, just steps from the beach and Rue de France, with its restaurants and shops. The tram is walkable too. Rooms are simple, clean, quiet, and well set up. Entry is all by code, so there’s no key to lose. Staff aren’t always on site, but you can reach them by phone from the beautiful lobby. There’s a big communal kitchen with everything you could imagine needing, including dishes and tableware, plus a cozy lobby and a large dining area for eating after you cook. There’s a grocery store around the corner. Unless you’re after expensive luxury, this place can’t be beat.

I stayed five nights at Club Inn and accidentally left an expensive dress hanging in the cupboard when we left very early in the morning. I know forgetting to pack it was my mistake, but when I contacted the team, they said housekeeping hadn’t found anything in the room. I’m certain the dress was left there, and now it’s been stolen by someone. I’ve stayed at lots of hotels that are honest about items left behind. I’m heartbroken because it’s a wedding dress. They’ve stopped replying to my messages. I filed an official report with the police to inform them that my dress was stolen from this hotel, and I’ll take this further. I don’t recommend this place. Dishonest. They say in their reply that I should reach out, but I’ve tried many times, and they still haven’t answered any emails or website submissions. Dishonest business!

The room was spacious and the hotel is in a great spot near the shops, restaurants, and beach. I actually liked the self check-in. Just enter the code and the door opens, so it’s very hassle-free. I took off a star because the cleaner walked straight into our room without knocking or saying hello, twice, while we were still in bed.

The rooms are simple, with private bathrooms, and it’s very, very quiet in a safe area. The communal kitchen is fantastically equipped and always spotless, and there’s a nice lobby and dining area. Check-in is automated: they email you a code that opens the entrance and your room. Staff are friendly, even though they’re not always on the premises; they come by a few times a day and respond to email. It’s just steps from the beach and Promeande D’Anglais, with lots of restaurants and shops along Rue de France, a block away in Nice’s main shopping area. And it’s only about $80 a night.
