The strongest issue for us was the smell in the room. We were on the first floor above the kitchen, and it seemed the ventilation was connected to it, so the smell of grilled meat was extremely strong and unpleasant. When we told the receptionist, they acknowledged it with a weary shake of the head. We wouldn't return for that reason. The hotel is reasonable otherwise, with normal-sized rooms, traditional and lavish German decor, good service and a nice spa. Breakfast was okay, but there was very little fruit and vegetables, and few lactose-free or vegan options.

Sound carries badly through the hotel. We could hear every step in the hallway and beds squeaking in other rooms, even the neighbors' toilet flushing, which made it hard to sleep. The mattress wasn't anything special, and the pillows were useless. The WiFi was nice when connected, but you have to log in again whenever you go out of range. Food varies, though it's usually nice. For the pool, bring your own towel or rent one for €5. Overall, the hotel didn't impress me.

We were put in the building next door, which is old and badly in need of an update. It looked nothing like the rooms advertised on Booking. The bathroom felt like one from a 1970s hotel I stayed in as a kid with my parents, and the bed was the worst we slept in during our nine nights in France. I wouldn't recommend it.

While exploring northern Alsace, we chose this hotel and were very satisfied. It's right in the town center, with shops and restaurants an easy walk away. You can wander around the small village and see quite a few nice things. The hotel has spacious rooms and an indoor swimming pool.

The hotel has an antique feel, with a good restaurant and a swimming pool. The main letdown was the breakfast during Covid19: served on a tray, it was very basic, and we had to ask for every extra. Even plates for the bread were missing. The room WiFi was extremely weak and only worked near the door. The park screened the street, but we could still hear traffic at times.
