Breakfast alone set a bar we kept comparing other places to. The quality and choice were better than at many four-star hotels, and Christine and Olivier clearly put a lot into making guests feel at home. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with its own design from the hosts, and the welcome felt just as warm. Parking is right outside the front door on the rue de Warneton. It’s a great base for western WW1 sites, or a handy first night when driving across the continent before heading through Germany and over the Alps. A five-plus-star stay, and a wonderful start to our holiday.

Breakfast was a proper feast: local products, real-butter croissants, traditional baguette, raspberries from the garden, homemade pancakes, and freshly pressed orange juice. All four of us headed into the day well rested and very full. The owners were charming and especially lovely with the kids. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and roomy, with a mattress that was so comfortable. The bathroom was large and had everything we needed. There was also a separate bedroom for the children, with games and their own TV. We adored our stay.

We had more at breakfast than we could have wished for, and the host was very friendly. The B&B feels modern but still cozy throughout. Our large bedroom had a double bed, a small desk, a fan, plus coffee and a kettle for water. The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom was big, with a bath and shower.

The table d’hôte was tasty, and there were even toys for little children. The hosts were very friendly, and the garden was lovely. La Nieppoise is a nicely renovated house with beautiful rooms, and we had a wonderful time there. We recommend a stay!
