La Maison Rousseau

Framboise, a friend of the owners, gave us excellent restaurant tips, while the tourist office was fantastic for everything else. Breakfast was excellent: fresh fruit salad, organic yogurt, local brioche, and lovely refined tableware, with Shalom for company. We stayed four days in a charming, inventive old house that felt like an antique shop full of finds. The kitchen units are exceptional, and the sign by the parking lot about not washing in animal water troughs is worth seeing. It’s easy to understand why La Maison France 5 featured it. We arrived at a different time than planned, but Framboise welcomed us and we were able to settle into the small suite early in the afternoon. The room was a good size, and the bathroom was pleasant, with excellent shower pressure, not always a given in an old townhouse. Private parking costs €12/day, much cheaper than anywhere else. We finally found a place that’s perfect for a relaxing stay in this beautiful city. We’ll gladly come back!

Our host welcomed us warmly and suggested somewhere for dinner. The children loved Huguette! The house is beautiful and tastefully decorated, just steps from the center of Nîmes while still peaceful. The rooms are very pleasant, and the interior patio is a perfect spot for breakfast, which was excellent and made with fresh products. We highly recommend this guesthouse if you’re visiting the area.

We were traveling with two bicycles and could keep them free of charge in the large, secure garage, which was a great service. Our privately run accommodation was tastefully decorated, and we really enjoyed the huge room and spacious bathroom. It was completely quiet even with the window open. The room was refreshed every day, which doesn’t always happen.

The bedding was comfortable, the bed was large, and the green patio was a peaceful haven where we felt completely at ease. The house is splendid, and we felt transported to another time. We were given a very warm welcome, and the breakfast was fabulous, generous, and made with high-quality products. I highly recommend this unique place, ideally located.
