Square Hôtel

The staff brushed off our concerns, saying it was simply how things are during the Feria, and wouldn’t offer a quieter room or any real fix. Only after I insisted did I get a partial refund, and it was far below the original booking rate. There was no accountability or clear communication, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. During the Feria, our stay at Hotel Square in Nîmes was extremely noisy. We hadn’t been told a loud fair would be right outside, and even with the windows shut, noise in the room was above 50 decibels, far beyond recommended sleep limits.

We spent one night there during the Féria. The hotel facilities were fine, but nobody warned us that live music right outside would be extremely loud until 3:10 am. Sleeping was impossible.

The bed was lovely, big, and comfortable, and the room had a nice balcony for sitting out and watching people. Even in January, it was warm enough to enjoy. We stayed one night, then decided later that day to book another. Great location.

They require you to write in to request a reservation. Two days went by without a reply, and I lost another option that seemed about equal. I never booked, so I can’t speak to the room quality and gave a neutral score. I won’t try them again, and it makes me wonder what the rest of the service is like when they don’t answer people trying to book.
