Amal gave us a wonderful welcome, probably the best I've had in France. The room was spotless and the pool was amazing. There’s no AC, as the listing says, and that was uncomfortable when the temperature reached a staggering 43C.

We stayed from 7 to 10 August 2025, paying 130 euros a night in the middle of the Corrèze countryside. At that price, I expected some service, but there was none. The room was very average, and despite what the listing says, there was no AC. The suite had neither a fridge nor a welcome drink. The pool isn't next to the gîte with the two rooms. You have to cross the road to the owner's home and swim under their windows, which is ridiculous. Don't trust the photos. Breakfast was like a cafeteria meal, with no local products. In short, look elsewhere.

The setting is pretty, the rooms are well kept, and the garden is a pleasant place to spend time. The 85-year-old grandmother who lives there is adorable, too. But we found the welcome a little cold, and at 90€ a night it seemed expensive. There was no small bottle of water in the room, or tea and a kettle for making coffee. We were quietly playing a board game with friends in the courtyard when the owner told us around 11 p.m. to go to our rooms and turn off the lights. The breakfast was good but very basic, just baguette and croissant, with no fruit or yogurt on the table. The owner's family had the pool mostly to themselves.

The rooms are comfortable, and the building sits in a beautiful spot among vineyards. That’s where the positives end for us. For €90 a night, breakfast was genuinely small: just a baguette and a stale croissant. Using the pool meant trying to find room among the owner's family, then waiting for the owner and his wife to finish having fun. A quiet getaway for a couple would also be hard here, because there's a gîte attached to the building and children were constantly screaming. That doesn't fit what I'd expect from a decent B&B. The staff weren't very welcoming either, and even a small glass of water on arrival would have been nice. The owners need to decide whether they want to run guest rooms or use the facilities for themselves, because the two don't work together.

We'd love to come back. The host makes delicious meals at home, and there's a secure pool plus equipment for children. The rooms are charming, and the manor house has been beautifully restored. The welcome is wonderful.
