VVF Les Sableaux à Noirmoutier

The staff at VVF were always kind, helpful, and cheerful, and they took good care of the kids at the kids club. The camping is clean, spacious and enclosed, so kids can bike or run around without worrying about traffic or getting lost. Cars stay in the parking lots, which keeps things calm. The beach and small restaurants are right nearby on a foot and bike path, and it's about a 10-minute bike ride into town. The pool is basic but large and clean. The snack bar is okay when it's open, but the menu is limited and some items weren't available on two separate days. The bungalows look nice but feel poorly built. The floors creak badly and the whole place shakes when someone walks, which makes moving quietly at night difficult. The larger six-person bungalow was cramped. At 185 cm and 100 kg, I had to turn sideways to get through doorways, even though I'm not a particularly large person. We'd reserved bikes months ahead, then got a call the day before arrival saying none were available because of a service issue. We were told to use another vendor, which meant leaving the camping to collect them and making a separate trip to return them before departure. Bikes were available at reception throughout our stay. There'd been a mistake and some cancellations, but by then it was too late for us. VVF should have arranged the rentals for us instead of sending us elsewhere. I think the bike rental service is separate from VVF, but either way, the whole thing was a hassle.
