We loved the town, especially the bar PMU, the little food gift shop, and the Saturday market. Le Grand makes it easy to enjoy Nontron, and the owner also has a small bar opposite, where the food is lovely and the welcome always warm. At the hotel, the team were really friendly and the owner lovely. Our mobility-accessible room pleased us, with comfortable, clean rooms and a wet room that dried incredibly quickly. The old building is nicely decorated, including all the public rooms. The restaurant menu is quite limited, but the portions are huge and the quality excellent. The chef and servers we met were delightful, and we felt very comfortable. The pool looked inviting, but the weather wasn't right for a swim. We stayed six nights.

Coming back after about 20 years was a pleasure. We used to stay here with our young son, and the new owners have modernised the place tastefully while keeping its old charm. The pool was there before, but it's been improved along with the surrounding area. The owner-manager and staff were very pleasant, and they handled my late arrival gracefully. I'd happily return.

We had a really enjoyable lunch, and the service was very friendly. The entrées were tasty, as was the main course. With my faux filet, I'd have preferred fewer potatoes and a few more vegetables, but all in all we had a delicious meal and a very nice time.

The food is excellent, and the staff are friendly. In this nicely renovated old building next to the Marie, the rooms have all been updated and are clean and pleasant. Nice hotel, I'd recommend it.
