Ver sur Mer is a charming village, with a superb boulangerie, a small "Proxi" supermarket, and a very traditional bar/cafe next door. It’s a fair walk from the accommodation, but not a difficult one. The British Memorial is about five minutes’ walk from the village centre, as described. Francoise was a welcoming, pleasant host. The accommodation is simple but more than enough for us, and spotlessly clean, vraiment nickel! My son and I had no car. The shops and memorial sites were within reasonable walking distance, and the beach is very close. We came by ferry to Ouistreham, then took Ligne 12 (Twisto) to Caen Gare SNCF. Gare Routiere, the bus station, is next to Gare SNCF. Bus 101 to Ver sur Mer runs very infrequently, so check the timetable. There’s also an express 101 to Courseulles sur Mer that doesn’t stop at Ver sur Mer. Nomad buses run the service, so check their website before planning to come without a car. We didn’t!
