D Day Aviators

We had a very bad experience with Aviators D Day hotel. During our travels we lost our communications and arrived late, with no way to contact the hotel. The owner was rude and refused to give us the room we had prepaid for. Nothing in the agreement said a late arrival meant forfeiting the room, especially when we had paid for two nights. From what I can see, she canceled both nights and kept the money. We had to drive back to Caen to find somewhere to stay, and Hotel Brit treated us very kindly. In all our travels, no innkeeper has treated us so cruelly. My wife has medical issues, and this could have sent her to the hospital. We were on holiday to connect with French motocross riders I have sponsored in the United States for the past eight years. I’m a college professor and former aerospace engineer, and my wife is president of our local Rotary international club, a worldwide public service group credited with ending polio. I had hoped to recommend the hotel to people in the aircraft community in the United States. My relationship with the French people has always been wonderful and full of love, which made this the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. My French friends are disappointed and saddened, and so am I.

The rooms were a good size, and we loved the gorgeous bathroom and breakfast. We stayed in rooms close to the beach and loved everything about the accommodation, especially its location.

Paul and his wife bring the history of airborne forces during WWII to life. The original pieces throughout the hotel made the visit even better than going to a museum. Spend some time here if you're exploring Normandy. Highly recommend it.

The town has plenty to do within a 10 minute walk, and I only wish I'd stayed longer. The host was polite, charismatic, and easy to talk to. I especially enjoyed the Normandy classics at breakfast, all delicious, and the rooms had historical memorabilia. A fantastic choice for anyone into history, culture, or aviation.
