Bayeux is well worth a visit for its pleasant center, cathedral, and lovely tea room. For groceries, L'Eclerc had everything we needed without having to deal with the chaos of Caen. We also enjoyed the walk to Omaha beach for a sobering sightseeing tour, and Carl pointed us toward some excellent restaurants nearby. My wife and I would happily come back to this wonderfully wonky Chateau for the warm hospitality and friendly, helpful proprietors.

The dog on the grounds was a hit with my kids, friendly and always happy to play fetch. The place is conveniently located for Omaha Beach and the military sites my husband had wanted to see for years. We arrived much later than planned after our flight was canceled and the airline lost our luggage, so I was sad and exhausted. My husband had booked the stay, and I was completely surprised by the beautiful architecture, furniture, and interior design. The ceilings, floors, doors, and even the walls are gorgeous. The bed was so comfortable, and we all slept really well in the quiet, peaceful room. It was very clean, too. In the morning we had fresh juice, coffee, pastries, jams, and croissants, and the hosts helped us figure out how to see as much as possible despite the flight delays. That lovely stay made the awful travel day feel worth it. I'd highly recommend it for couples or families.

The breakfast was amazing, and the hosts made us feel so welcome. Staying here in Normandy made our vacation even more unforgettable. It was so peaceful, and the place gave us the feeling of being aristocrats. We're grateful to the hosts for such a lovely stay! ❤️

Carl, the owner, was so friendly, and we loved hearing him talk about the castle and the surrounding area's history. The rooms were very comfortable and breakfast was amazing. We had a delightful stay at the castle, which is very close to Omaha Beach and other Normandy attractions. We'd highly recommend it.

Carl was quick to reply by email when we let him know we'd be arriving late, and even though we pulled in at 9:00, he was waiting outside to welcome us. We drove over from Caen and found the place easily with GPS. My husband and I spent two memorable nights here and had a wonderful time. The room we'd booked wasn't available, but the one we got was just as beautiful. Every corner of the property felt unique and true to traditional Chateau style, with nothing too perfect or new. We enjoyed exploring the grounds and hearing Carl's knowledge of the area's history. We were close to all the D-Day sites, yet tucked away enough to relax after a long day of travel. We can't wait to come back. We talk about the place whenever we get the chance, and already miss Newton the Chateau dog :)
