Manoir de L'Hermerel

It's a lovely old manor with a farm, set somewhere very quiet and away from regular traffic. My room felt like a castle, and it was spacious and really comfortable. Breakfast was homemade and very fresh, with far more than the usual. The owner also makes cidre. A nice place for a holiday at a reasonable price.

Such a beautiful property! The owner was a very kind man, feeding apples to his horses, and our dogs got to play with his dog.

The surrounding area is a quiet corner of wetlands in Normandy, known as Veys bay (baie des Veys in french), with charming churches, manor houses and old farm buildings to see. The building itself is sturdy and made for a great night's sleep. The welcoming landlord also sells cider and local apple alcohol, Calvados, made by one of his sons. You'll find it in the impressive pigeon tower in the middle of the inner yard.

The hosts were so pleasant and welcoming, and the manor itself is beautiful. The rooms are great, too, and it's a very good B&B choice for the area. The food was generally good, though the bread was a bit dry sometimes.
