The restaurant was excellent, and the reception staff were helpful and made us feel at home. We only stayed one night, and it was pleasant. Our room was very small and not modern, and could use some renovation, especially given the hotel’s luxury spa.

We really enjoyed our stay, especially as a couple. The staff across the spa and reception were friendly and caring. They even managed to find us a duo massage at the last minute, and the experience was amazing. The food was good, though a little pricey. I’d recommend this spa to anyone.

Four star hotel? Hahahah! The spa is nice, but these rooms are disgusting and 40 years old. They ought to update the rooms instead of adding on. Staying here feels like a major gamble.

Breakfast was good, and the staff at reception kindly swapped the spa robe when I found it was old and had holes. Still, the hotel felt overpriced for what it offered. The bathroom soap dispenser didn’t work, and the shower head was broken. The spa was packed and not very clean. There was a lot of hair and dead skin in the pool, which put me off. The stay was okay, but those issues left me disappointed and made it less relaxing than it could have been.

Our package covered one hotel night with breakfast and a full day at Yonaguni Spa. The hotel was beautifully decorated and well maintained, and the staff were kind from the moment we arrived. We reached the hotel just before the 15:00 check-in time, but our deluxe room was already ready. It was spacious, had a small balcony, and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Everything looked clean, but there was some dust that triggered my allergies and made it hard to sleep. I suspect the carpeted floors may be a problem for guests sensitive to allergies. Breakfast was excellent, varied, fresh and delicious, and everything was nicely presented. Eggs were cooked on the spot, with several styles available. We also had access to the hotel’s smaller spa from 15:00 to 20:00 on arrival day. It was very clean and mostly quiet at first. When we came back about two hours later, all the lounge chairs were taken. Even so, it felt open and calm because there was plenty of space. It has a large pool, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam, and a special shower that sprays foam on you. The spa bag with slippers, a bathrobe and a towel was a nice touch. We got to Yonaguni Spa around 10:00 the next day and were a bit underwhelmed. It looks impressive and is well kept, but was extremely crowded until after lunch, so it was hard to enjoy it peacefully. For the price, we expected something more exclusive and relaxing. There’s one large basin arranged like a labyrinth, with different water features. Some sit right in the main walkways, so you end up passing between people using them. With only one basin, there’s also only one water temperature. The separate outdoor summer pool was closed. We’d hoped for a larger outdoor area, especially since the hotel garden is bigger than the spa. The main basin’s small outdoor extension has a tiny garden with around 10 loungers. The summer pool area has a few couples’ pergolas, only about 3-4 of them. The indoor spa has three floors: the large basin on the first, the sauna area on the second, and massages on the third. The second floor also has sensory showers with different pressures, temperatures and rhythms, which we enjoyed. But there are only about three saunas and two hammams, which didn’t seem enough for the number of guests. We often had to wait in line for the showers and other features. There are several nicely arranged rest areas, including one with free tea, apples and dried fruit. The spa was generally clean and well organized. It provides a bathrobe, two towels and flip-flops, though the flip-flops were quite noisy, out of place in the quiet relaxation areas. Lunch at the spa restaurant cost 38 euros per person and was well worth it. You could put together your own poke bowl starter, with a good selection of toppings like tuna, beef tataki, sauces, seeds and fresh greens. Main dishes included grilled fish, pork, pizza, lasagna and carrots. The fish was especially good. There were various tasty desserts, including fruit, île flottante, mousse and small cakes. Drinks weren’t included. The facilities were high quality and we enjoyed the visit, but for the price we expected a little more, especially in space, exclusivity and outdoor features.
