We had the best meal of our time on the GR30 here. The evening dinner was absolutely delicious, and the rooms were spotless. La Maison de la Monne is in a magnificent spot, and François, Guillaume, and Elisabeth gave us a fantastic welcome. You do need to book everything ahead and arrive on time, but this place is on another level for a hiking guesthouse. Don’t let the negative reviews put you off.

The view nearby is superb, and there are lovely walks all around to explore. It’s a really pleasant spot. The inn itself feels both welcoming and relaxing, and the meal was delicious for the price.

At 7 p.m. on August 9, 2025, during a heatwave, four adults and a six-year-old who had hiked up the Monne Gorge were desperately thirsty. We were refused drinks because, we were told, the place was full, although an outdoor table on the terrace was empty. If being welcomed, or even just received at all, matters to you, stay away from this place. Daniel

We were a group of 55, and this place worked really well for us. There are private and shared bedrooms, plus a dining room set up for groups with a kitchen and equipment. The gîte sits at 800m altitude and also has studios and a restaurant. Great! 👍
