The reception staff were incredibly kind and left a great impression. The shower was another nice surprise, with hot water coming through straight away and working perfectly. We’d booked through check24, where it was listed as “Green Resort,” and only realized it was this place when we arrived. Our chalet inside the campsite was okay, though much smaller than I’d expected. The bedroom had room for the bed and little else, so there wasn’t space to move around. There was no fan in our unit, but fortunately it rained while we were there, so the heat wasn’t a problem.

The staff were so friendly that we even tried to extend our stay. The heated pool was great for the kids, the amenities were excellent, and the location was excellent too. I enjoyed an easy Pilates class that would also have suited more advanced people. Our room was simple, but clean and private. The kitchen had almost everything we needed, and the room heating worked well when it got cold. We did find quite a spider in our cabin, but still loved having our privacy. The power went out a few times and came back within minutes. We were really pleased and will return.

The checkout conversation summed up how frustrating the stay had been. A very sweet receptionist asked how things went, and I explained the problems. She tried to help, but said, “That’s how all campings in France work.” As a foreigner, how could we know that if the details aren’t clearly explained up front? We stayed four nights in a “superior bungalow.” At check-in we got a key, map, and rules, and were shown where to drive. The bungalow was on a street corner, with its terrace opening right onto the road and no privacy. The place also felt far more basic and bare than the Booking.com photos suggested, with harsh white spotlights and a yellow leather couch. For two people there were two simple sheets, one fleece blanket, and one towel each. There was no tea towel for dishes, so bring your own. The cleanliness was disappointing. The dishes were greasy, and I only noticed a dried yellow mark on a glass after drinking from it. Inside was a large sign bragging about how “super hygienic” the place was, which felt like a joke. The cleaning kit was an old, worn broom, a long-haired mop, and one sponge, apparently for the kitchen, bathroom, and toilet unless you asked reception for another. We knew we could clean ourselves or pay a €90 cleaning fee, but the bungalow hadn’t been properly cleaned when we arrived. There were extra costs and supplies we hadn’t expected. Wi-Fi cost extra, the deposit was twice the cost of our entire stay, and only one toilet roll and one trash bag were provided. On our last night, I asked for another roll and was told there were free ones in a basket in the shop. It was empty. When I asked a man working there if any were left, he raised his voice and said, “Of course you have to pay for these!” Apparently free rolls are put out in the morning, but once they’re gone you have to buy more. It was a very unpleasant end to the trip. This wasn’t a relaxing stay for us. It might suit someone who wants very basic accommodation, but the lack of cleanliness, unclear communication, added costs, and unfriendly encounters left us disappointed and uncomfortable. I can’t recommend this campsite.

Hygiene was a major problem. We booked a mobile home and found we had to clean the whole place ourselves. Too tired to do it that first night, we slept in a dirty caravan with a musty, dirty smell mixed with anti-odor spray, apparently from the cleaning staff or previous guest. I woke several times because it was so disgusting. The next day we had to wash everything, including the floors, kitchen area, sinks, and toilet. The toilet smelled distinctly of urine, and there was the same smell by the fridge, probably from a dog. There were also lots of bird droppings on the recliner seats, so we couldn’t use them.
