Résidence Odalys Rochebrune Les Cimes

The location is good, and being able to ski in and out was perfect. But the rooms, hall and pool weren't clean. One of the security staff told us we couldn't sit in the lobby after 10:00pm because reception was closing. We won't return to odalys Les Cimes. A butcher told us Les Cimes was the most luxurious accommodation in Rociere Merlette, but it definitely isn't.

What sticks with me from a €1600 stay is the deplorable condition of the apartment. I reported it, but nothing could fix the dirt. I have over twenty photos showing grime, stains, dust and holes. I'm very disappointed, and after this experience I'm not sure I'll try Odalys again. Four stars and €1600, with no compensation, is appalling.

The facilities were a real plus: gym, spa and a swimming pool at a comfortable temperature. The apartments are modern and well equipped, in a great spot at the foot of the slopes and close to shops. The beds are very firm, maybe too firm, so a mattress topper would help. Heating was awkward to control, especially in the bathrooms, where the towel warmers couldn't be switched on manually. Everything runs through the thermostat, and the bedrooms got too hot at night while the main room felt a bit cool. The radiators rarely seemed to work, and the controls weren't very user-friendly. Still, we were never cold, and the apartments are very well insulated. Our balcony wasn't covered or cleared of snow. At the price we paid, finding it uncleared on the first day was disappointing, though I understand the weather made things harder later in our stay. Ask whether smokers use the balconies, since that affects apartment allocation. Otherwise, we had a perfect stay.
