The top-floor apartment was quiet and looked out over a nice back garden belonging to the property on the street behind. It’s in a good spot, just off Orléans’ main eating and drinking street. Check-in with the door code was easy. Inside, everything was very basic, from the decor to the Ikea beds, but serviceable. The kitchen had enough for us, though there’s no dishwasher or laundry. The shower and toilet were clean, but the tray filled with water quickly while showering. That room opens straight off the living, dining and kitchen area, so privacy is limited. There are four double beds, three in the loft and one in the living area, but it would be extremely cramped for eight. Even with one adult and two kids, it felt tight. The wifi only worked right next to the apartment door during our stay, which was a nuisance.

There’s no air-conditioning, which they did mention. Still, when it’s 26 degrees outside, it stays cool inside. The narrow roads and brick walls help a lot with the heat.

The apartment’s in a fantastic location, close to both parking garages and the city centre, and I really enjoyed staying there. My only small gripe was the shortage of power outlets, which made it a bit tricky for everyone to charge phones, smartwatches and other devices.
