Breakfast was great, and one of the staff even booked us a dinner table and pointed us toward a little Christmas market nearby. We only wish we could've stayed longer at this lovely small hotel in a peaceful town, close to Strasbourg and other little towns.

Our kids thought the old farmhouse looked like a castle, which made the stay feel magical for them. We were warmly welcomed, and everything was easy, comfortable, and fun for our little family with young children. We'll come back, even if we have to detour when we're in the area.

The hosts gave us such a gracious welcome, and the accommodation looked like it belonged on a postcard. I can't say enough about this beautiful place. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

After driving classic cars through torrential rain on a difficult journey, we were welcomed warmly and without much fuss. The Hotel a la Ferme is now my favourite small hotel in rural France, a superb countryside place run by people who care about giving the best service. Our group had pre-dinner drinks in the Blue House's spacious private sitting room. Part of the group stayed there, and yes, it's painted blue. My room was large, and so was the bathroom. Both were the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever seen, and the bathroom had every lotion and potion you could want. Dinner in the main dining room was excellent and served efficiently. The wine list seemed a little short, though there may have been good reasons for that. Breakfast was excellent too, with hot dishes cooked to order. It's a converted farm, as the name suggests, and it may not feel 'super luxurious' to visitors looking for a Wellness Club, swimming pool, jacuzzi, or tennis courts. Highly recommended.

The restaurant was a pleasant surprise. We hadn't realised how good it was when we booked: there's a Michelin-starred restaurant in the village serving traditional Alsace-style food, with excellent service. The hotel itself is a lovely family-run place, tucked away in a village near Strasbourg. It keeps the charm of a 15th-century farmhouse, with antiques and family heirlooms, and has pretty gardens where you can sit. The rooms are very comfortable. In contrast, the restaurant at the hotel is modern. Breakfast was up there with the Spanish Paradors, and they'll make eggs specially if you ask. Service was excellent, and the modern bathroom was spotless, with a great shower.
