The evening meal in the lovely courtyard, with the sun still out, was a real highlight. The chef deserves the praise: the food was inventive, full of color and had great textures and flavor. Some of the best food we've had during three weeks in France. Thanks, we'll be back. The place really lived up to its name, with quirky, amazing color. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and fun.

We came for Saturday lunch and the dining room was nice, with a view of a cute garden. It was nearly empty when we visited, and our waitress was friendly. For €27, we got four kinds of amuse-bouches, an appetizer, a main course, and a small dessert, with coffee extra. The amuse-bouches were only OK. The homemade blood sausage was nice, though. My avocado terrine appetizer felt very 70s and wasn't bad, but lacked subtlety. The white fish with bacon was better. It could have used a little more seasoning, but I enjoyed it, and the strawberry tart was good too. The first menus are under €30, so it's pretty good for the price, even if not perfect.

We had a lovely family meal, with tasty food and a really nice time together. The gourmet menu was €47, and the garden is beautiful. There is plenty of indoor space, and Covid-19 measures were in place.

The restaurant service was faultless, and both the hotel and restaurant offer outstanding value, with quality above their current ratings. I'll be booking again soon. I stayed in one of the spacious, beautifully appointed new rooms on the ground floor and slept very well. Each morning I enjoyed looking out over the garden. I was here on a recent cycle tour and had a very comfortable stay. Chef Vincent Lanchais served wonderful food. I can't understand why he hasn't received a Michelin Star yet. Favorites included the "Lotte Pochee", "Osiblues Roties", "Marbrerie de Foie Gras" and "Ris de Veau Pane". Those dishes are well above the current Bib Gourmand rating.
