Les Alizés

The cleaning man was kind, and I feel for him because this state of disrepair isn’t his fault. The hotel’s location is a real plus, but inside it feels worn down and overdue for renovation, with an unpleasant smell in the hallways. The bathroom was dirty and in bad shape: the shower screen was broken and replaced by an unappealing curtain, the shower had mold residue and black marks around the grout, and the bathroom furniture was also dirty and damaged. Parking costs money until 10 PM, even on Sundays and holidays. My car was damaged, apparently so someone could steal a headlight cover. It’s a shame given the location, but we won’t be back.

We especially appreciated how welcoming and cheerful everyone was, both at the hotel and the restaurant. The sea view was lovely, and the value for money was unbeatable.

The noise was constant, with no real soundproofing. We could hear the neighbors, the street, the stairs, and the elevator. The room itself had a lingering bad smell, a stained bedsheet, and a shower we couldn’t bring ourselves to use because we were worried about germs. Its shower head was broken and left on the floor. Spiders had taken over the window, so we couldn’t open it. Getting there was just as unpleasant: an old fire escape led into a filthy corridor that smelled awful, and the elevator was disgusting, taking about two minutes to travel just two floors. We called the contact number, decided to leave and carry on rather than sleep there, and canceled our stop in the beautiful town of Palavas. Don’t pay to stay here.
