Alcaline Montorgueil

The host was four and a half hours late for our arranged meeting, even though the day before we’d been warned we could be cancelled or heavily fined for being 30 minutes late. My family, all our luggage, and I spent hours on a curb in a back alley in the July heat, losing a precious day in Paris. There was no call, and the host didn’t answer around twenty calls, emails, or TripAdvisor messages. When I finally contacted TripAdvisor, he immediately picked up the same number I’d been calling all day and blamed reception problems, in central Paris. When he finally let us in, the apartment hadn’t been cleaned since the previous guest. There was food on the floor and in the sink, and the bed was a mess. After we’d already waited in the heat, we were told to leave the apartment we’d paid for so it could be cleaned. The host never called to apologize or make things right. When I contacted him a couple of days later, he was smug and combative, offering arguments and excuses instead of a sincere apology. I rarely write negative reviews, but feel I should warn people. Stay away from this place and the other apartments in the ALCALINE group.
