Alexandrine Opera

We were two friends sharing a room, and after reading the mixed reviews I was a little nervous. We were very happy with it, though. The size suited us perfectly and didn't feel small at all. We were on the sixth floor, and the tiny elevator was handy. The room had no view, which didn't bother us, though the other side probably has a great one. Everything looked new and lovely, and the room and spotless bathroom were very clean, with no bugs or stains. The staff were so friendly, which I really appreciated. I'd happily return and recommend the hotel.

We liked the location, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. After my first shower, I found very noticeable stains all over the towel. My partner and I were disgusted. I've never encountered dirty towels in any of the hotels I've stayed at. The next day there were stains on the sheets too, so the laundry clearly isn't being washed properly. When I showed the towel to the receptionist, she didn't apologize or seem surprised. She was rude and blamed an outside laundrette, which isn't an acceptable excuse. The hotel is responsible for clean linens, and stained towels and sheets are disgusting in a modern hotel. Our room was also tiny, dark, and completely characterless, nothing like the photos on bookings.com. Coffee was only available at reception, not very useful from the sixth floor, especially since there weren't even seats there to drink it. We'd have preferred to make coffee in the room. Our room was next to the elevator, which was loud and woke us several times overnight and early in the morning. You can find better value at other Paris hotels.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed my stay. My room was clean and quiet.

A quiet, pleasant neighborhood, with a large train and metro station about a five to seven minute walk away. The staff were lovely, and our clean room had everything we needed. It was small, as expected for Paris and the price, but the big French windows in both the room and bathroom opened onto a quiet street. Having morning coffee with that homely view was lovely. Thanks for the hospitality, I'd definitely stay again.
