Even though the reviews had me worried, I couldn't find a better option after searching for days. I'm glad I booked it, my stay turned out great. The place looks really modern as soon as you walk in, with a trendy reception where they sell water. Having someone there 24/7 felt reassuring, and the key card locks on the rooms felt secure too. The Wi-Fi was very weak and you can hear a lot through the walls, but it's a hostel, and that's been my experience with hostels in general. The poor Wi-Fi even gave me a bit of the social break I wanted. Breakfast was included: two kinds of cereal, coffee, hot chocolate, a croissant, a baguette, butter, and jam. It was a good spread, and buying all that in a store would cost at least €10. They also had free baguettes and croissants at reception throughout the day. There were three showers and two toilets on each floor. They seemed to clean them twice a day, and they looked great. Room cleaning was impressive too. Every day they took out the rubbish, mopped the floors, and cleaned the sink and mirror in the room. It's a 20-minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, two minutes from a supermarket, and five minutes from the metro. I was really happy with my stay!

It was perfectly fine for a one-night stay, especially for the price. The rooms aren't soundproof, and breakfast was just a croissant, coffee, and cereal. The Brazilian guy at reception was really friendly. He helped me check in during the night and plan my stay, thanks for that. The location is about 30-40 minutes from the Eiffel Tower.

The only good part was that the stay eventually ended. This is the worst place I've ever stayed. I booked a twin room, but it was laid out poorly. All the outlets were by one bed, while the other bed, near the door, had no power point for charging devices. There was no elevator, and the shared bathrooms weren't hygienic. It was poor value for money. I've never seen another hotel or hostel make you carry your bed linen to reception when checking out.

The night receptionist's sheer arrogance was the last straw. My ground-floor room had no heating, and nobody mentioned that at check-in, so I had to go downstairs in the middle of the night for an extra blanket. The blankets smelled musty, and the WiFi barely worked in the room. There’s no lift for taking luggage upstairs, either. Each floor has just one toilet and one shower. The toilet is so tiny, with the basin inside it, that washing your hands without splashing water everywhere is hard. Forget washing your face or brushing your teeth there. The shower was more or less okay, but the water pressure hit my face and chest so hard it hurt. Everything about this hostel felt uncomfortable.

I left after one night because it was so noisy. You can hear everything in the stairwell, and a group of people was let into my room in the middle of the night. Check-in for the day starts after 15:00, which is fair enough, but if those are the rules, they shouldn't check people in at 2 am either. It is a hostel, sure, but they should at least stick to their own rules. The beds are tiny and uncomfortable, and even a small movement makes them creak. The furniture felt like the cheapest stuff on the market, and the place reminded me more of a prison. The toilets and showers were cramped and not very clean. For what you pay, it’s not worth it, especially since it's about 40 minutes from the center. Avoid it if you can.
