Hôtel Ambassadeur

We were told renovation was in progress, but I'm not sure it will happen in 2026 if it hasn't started yet, so keep that in mind. There was no soundproofing, and we could hear the street and the neighboring rooms. We were lucky that everyone was quiet, so we slept well. We stayed two nights and didn't use the air warmer or conditioner because we like a cooler room. It might feel too cold to others if they leave it off. The area looked and felt super safe, with a city bus four minutes away and good places to eat nearby. We went to "Yansai" and would rate it 10/10. We came at 14:10 to check in, and although the room wasn't ready, we only wanted to leave our bags. When we came back that evening, it smelled fresh and nice. I'd asked for a good room in advance, and we got a standard room on the third floor. The floor was clean when I checked it by hand. Our socks got a little dirty, like they do at home, nothing terrible or disgusting. The mirrors were clean, and the sheets and towels looked and smelled clean. The lady and man at reception were so kind and friendly, and the interaction was really pleasant. Their efforts make the hotel look better. Thank you. I have only nice things to say. Maybe the cleaning service and staff are changing, but our stay was pretty good, unlike what the other reviews led me to expect.

The room felt so dirty that I slept in my clothes because I didn't want to touch anything. I booked through Booking.com and filed a complaint, but the hotel ignored Booking.com. I strongly don't recommend this place. It's by far the worst hotel I've stayed in. I had booked four nights, but I arrived late and had no choice but to spend one night in those unacceptable conditions. I left the next day for another hotel. It wasn't worth even €10 a night, yet they charge around €100. That's outrageous for what you get. The photos say it all.

The location was convenient, close to the Metro and shops, and the staff were consistently kind and polite. We also appreciated having fresh towels every day. Still, the room we stayed in had not been renovated at all, despite Booking saying that all rooms would be renovated in 2025. It didn't match that information. We also found the key handling unsafe and unprofessional. Whenever we left, we had to leave our room key at reception. When we came back, staff handed it over without asking our names, checking ID, or verifying who we were. The good location and kind staff couldn't make up for the misleading renovation information and lack of basic security checks.

Our first day of the holiday was ruined. We were exhausted the next day after getting no sleep, and had also spent time arguing with reception and waiting for another room. The first room didn't match any of the listing photos or description. It was old and dirty, and the walls were so thin we could hear the couple next door having a good time all night. When I confronted reception, they said every other room was fully booked, even though they clearly knew which room I meant. I had to make a scene before we finally got moved. The new room was the complete opposite and did match the photos, but the delay and argument had already spoiled our first day.
