There was a moldy smell in the room. They had no other room available to move us to at first, but changed it the next day. The new room still smelled bad, although the mold had been washed off the walls. The bathroom was dirty and had hair everywhere. Even though we put a sign on the door saying we didn’t want cleaning, the cleaner came in to add coffee, tea, or milk and clean the bathroom. I don’t recommend this hotel.
I was there for nine days for work, and everyone from reception to the cleaning staff was so kind. I’ve honestly never met such lovely people working at a hotel. The room was perfect, and the dining area had a homey feel. I recommend it.
The staff make sure guests get a warm welcome, and they’re excellent. The surroundings are peaceful too. In the morning, birdsong woke me up, which felt unusual for a city.
We had a great stay at Porte de Versailles Hotel. The location was convenient, with cafes and restaurants nearby, the Eiffel Tower close, and a direct bus within a five minute walk. The rooms were cozy and really nice, and room service is available 24 hours. Staff were welcoming, and they let us leave our luggage for a few extra hours because our bus wasn’t until the evening. I’d stay again for sure.
Balard and other public transport options are a short walk away, as is Paris Expo. I had a clean room at the back of the hotel, so it was quiet. It was small, but that was fine for one night on my own. The front desk staff were lovely, kind, and helpful. I didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. There was no hot water because of boiler trouble. I had to call reception to ask what was going on, and I wish they’d told me beforehand.
