Appart'hôtel East Paris Suite

Our apartment was clean, well kept and roomy enough for four people. The sofa bed in the hall was a useful addition, and there was someone on hand in the evenings if we needed help. Monoprix nearby is handy for all sorts of things, including food, drinks, fruit and even electronics like a universal travel adapter. For getting into the building, zoom in on the barcode in your email and hold it about 10 cm from the scanner. That worked perfectly for us. It was a comfortable, convenient stay, and I’d recommend it.

The rooms themselves are new and very well equipped, which makes this a shame. We paid 440 euro for one night, booking specifically because every room was advertised with air conditioning. Once we checked in, it didn’t work. We called three times over two hours and were repeatedly told someone would come to look. No one came. At 7pm, when the phone line shits, we spoke to the night receptionist, who said it doesn’t work anywhere in the building and is a “known thing”. The night receptionist was only security and couldn’t help. It’s upsetting that the person on the phone didn’t just say it was broken and instead made us wait three hours for someone who never arrived. If a major amenity is known to be unavailable, guests should be told before their booking is confirmed. It was very hot overnight. They provided one small fan, so there wasn’t one for everyone, and we couldn’t leave the windows open because of street noise and bugs. The service was terrible and we didn’t like the location, so I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We spent 4 nights in a comfortable apartment that had everything we needed, and they let us check in a little early at no extra charge. Maison Blanche metro is only a few minutes away on foot. It’s not a very central location, but it’s fine, and the walk to Pantheon takes 30-40 min. We enjoyed the pleasant neighbourhood, which is mostly east Asian shops.

It’s a quiet spot even in the evening, and the apartment is clean, nicely maintained and convenient for getting to the city center by metro. But customer service was terrible. We only found out the AC wasn’t working after it was too late to cancel. We also sent several emails and called about late checkout, and nobody bothered to answer.
