We spent three nights at Hotel Baume and adored it. The classic room had everything we needed, and the rooms and shared spaces were impeccably clean. The staff took such care resetting our room each day. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Martin greeted us when we arrived, showed us where everything was, and put us at ease right away. He made us smile, and it was a joy to see him each day. Alexander helped us at checkout. He was kind, gentle, patient with our questions, and thoughtful. You can tell how much they enjoy their work, and their kindness made our stay special. The breakfast was delicious and filling, great fuel for exploring Paris. I'm still dreaming about the cheese assortment, and the breakfast team worked hard to get our orders right each day. We booked flights and hotel, including breakfast, through British Airways after seeing all the positive reviews, and they were right. The hotel is on a quiet, safe-feeling street in the Latin Quarter, close to its bookshops, Jardin du Luxembourg, and Notre Dame. We bought books at Shakespeare and Company and spent hours reading in Jardin du Luxembourg. The short walk back to the hotel was perfect. We came back to England after the trip of a lifetime, and I'll dream about it until we return one day.

The hotel has beautiful decor, and it was so peaceful at night, even though our room looked out over other properties. The staff welcomed us, carried our bags, and showed us around before letting us settle in. They also had umbrellas by the entrance for guests to use. It rained a bit, but that didn't stop us sightseeing! It's a great base for walking to the metro and main sights, with lots of cafes and shops nearby, yet the area felt peaceful. Paying for and getting around on the metro with a Navigo card was easy. Can't wait to plan another Paris trip. I'd recommend staying at Hotel Baume next time!

The bedrooms were charming and comfortable, with fantastic showers, and we slept well with the window open onto the quiet little street. We arrived very early on Sunday morning at this bright, lively little hotel, and it had an immediate charm. A very kind, helpful woman at the front desk took time to talk with us and point out nearby places, including things to keep in mind because we were there during Christmas and some things might be closed. We were rude and never got her name. Next time I go to Paris, I'll stay here again.

The room felt like a poorly insulated garden annex, not part of the actual hotel. It was on a corner accessible from outside, with a drafty door and window, and we shivered through a short night before leaving early. I'd booked a last-minute deal through the trusted third party HotelTonight, but still expected a room in the hotel. The kitschy decor and lack of cleanliness were the last straw, after what felt like a blatant attempt to upsell us on arrival with, “Maybe you want a bigger room?” Maybe the hotel has some nice, properly renovated rooms, and I'm glad others had a good experience, but mine was disappointing from arrival to early departure. Hotel Baume had been on my watch list for years, but it looked very different from the pictures. No one even asked how our stay was.

Our room was spotless, and the shower was fantastic. The staff were so kind and let us check in early, which made arriving much easier. Hotel Baume is a short walk from the Latin Quarter, but the area was still quiet at night. We felt comfortable throughout our lovely stay and would definitely come back on our next trip to Paris.
