The breakfast was too basic for me: a croissant, toast, butter, jam, and carton drinks like coffee, tea, or orange juice. The staff were fairly friendly, though, and the tiny private room was clean and thoughtfully arranged to save space. It’s close to the subway, so getting around the city was easy, even if the main sights aren’t nearby. We had a pleasant stay, and I’d recommend it if you’re after a reasonably priced hostel.
I was in a four-bed dorm, and the room was cleaned regularly while the bathroom stayed clean. There was a useful locker in the room, and the WiFi worked well the whole time. The subway station is only five minutes away, making it easy to get around Paris. I’d had a problem with the hostel I was meant to stay at, but the staff here were very helpful and found me a suitable room on the spot. I’d recommend staying here.
The location worked well for getting around, with a Velib station and the metro close by. The road nearby felt a little seedy at night, but the shops and food in the other direction were excellent, and Buttes Chaumont, a beautiful reclaimed quarry park, is close too. I stayed in a huge, spacious four-bed dorm with windows that open for fresh air. Breakfast was amazing, with delicious croissants and a coffee machine, and the staff were super friendly. A few things could be better: the fridge had expired food because there’s no labeling system, there’s no freezer, and the dining area gets very crowded at breakfast.
A nice, quiet hostel, so it’s not for students looking to party. The staff are super nice, and breakfast is included and OK. My one suggestion for the owners would be to add air conditioning on the -1 floor. It’s a shared area where people could hang out, but the heat from the machines made it impossible.
I had a great view from my room at the very front of the building on the fourth floor. The bathroom needs a little maintenance, though everything works, and it’s looking more shabby than chic. It’s excellent value for money and well placed for metro travel, with Lidl and francpics nearby. Belleville is so multicultural, which was lovely to see. I did notice a lot of Asian women standing around; from what I read online, the area also seems to be a place for solicitation. Even so, I felt safe and welcome here, and I’d consider staying again if I return to Paris.
