Central Hotel

Comfy beds and the metro right across the street were the good parts. We paid 220€ for a single room, then found little black hairs all over the beds. There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, only in the stairwell, and it worked maybe half the time. The showers were foul, with big clumps of hair on the floor, mold everywhere, and a cramped, bad smell. We couldn't make ourselves use them, so we washed at the sink in our room. The cleaning staff had long black hair, and we kept finding big clumps of it on our beds. Our room also had no safe.

The location worked well for us, with smaller restaurants, bakeries, a supermarket, and Metro access nearby. You can also walk to Notre Dame in about 45 minutes. Staff were a mixed bag: one kind person in the corridor helped carry our bags upstairs, but the woman at reception was quite rude. Despite the quirks, it was a fairly decent stay for a tighter budget. I'd suggest booking an en suite room with a shower. We had one with a shower and both room, and preferred it to the communal showers. There was only one shower per floor for about eight rooms, awkwardly placed in the stairwell. Our room was clean and had the expected amenities except a hair dryer. The setup was strange, though: the TV sat above the door near the ceiling, some drawers were fake, and the hot and cold taps seemed reversed. The radiator pumped out intense heat and couldn't be turned off, so we left the window open all night to keep the temperature comfortable.

I couldn't use the shower because the bathroom smelled so awful. The toilet was nearby, but so tiny you could hardly close the door while inside. The bed linen had oily-looking stains on it. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

My room wasn't cleaned, the shower was broken, and there were things left behind by previous guests. The walls were stained and torn, and there were more problems I could list. Staff felt extremely violent, unwelcoming, and suspicious, which left me uncomfortable throughout the stay. This was the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in. I've never gone out of my way to write a review before, but this experience was so bad that I did. Please change your plans and stay elsewhere.
