The location worked especially well for the Louvre, right next door, and everyone on staff was warm and friendly, with no snobbery at all. We felt comfortable there as a couple. Our room was spacious, with lovely furniture and fabrics, a big bathroom, luxurious amenities, and a riverfront view. The bed controls let us change its position, a nice touch. There was contemporary art throughout the hotel, which gave it a distinctive feel. The pool was excellent, and staff brought fresh towels after each sauna or hammam visit. The Dior Spa added to the luxury. We loved the food, especially breakfast. The eggs were great, but the waffles were unforgettable. Plénitude and the Japanese restaurant Hakuba were both fantastic too. It was a wonderful stay at a modern, stylish property.

The location and setting are lovely, and they were the reason we picked this hotel after comparing several well-known five-star places. The service during our stay, though, was disappointing for the price and level. At check-in, the staff member seemed impatient and didn't communicate attentively. When I called room service for a curling iron, they confirmed the request, but nothing came for over 30 minutes. I had to call again before it was brought up. At breakfast, staff seemed indifferent, and guests who weren't fluent in English got little patience or help. These things affected my mood that day, and made me question the service standards. There were a few other small but noticeable shortcomings too. After checkout I emailed about items I'd left in the room, and also mentioned them in the post-stay survey. I got no response to the email or acknowledgement of the survey at first. I was working right up to checkout, so I'm certain the items were left on the desk. When I eventually received a response here, it felt generic and impersonal. A reply to the survey arrived 10 days later, but was similarly generic and gave no contact details for follow-up. At another luxury hotel, I believe the care and experience would have been quite different. The hardware and location are good, but service needs to improve. If service isn't a priority, it may still work for you. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who values the service experience.

It could still suit someone who doesn't care much about service. If you do, I wouldn't recommend it.

My sister felt like a princess here, and it's my favorite hotel in Paris. We got to check in early, and the airport transfer there and back was included. Alex, our driver, was so kind, fun to talk with, and had great advice as he took us to several places. The Dior spa is a must, my 90-minute deep tissue massage was amazing. We also loved breakfast and dinner at Le Tout Paris. The concierge found us reservations, including the best table in the house at Girafe. Merci Beaucoup to everyone at CB!
