Citadines Austerlitz Paris

The room was warm and had everything we needed, and the area felt especially safe for women. Getting to the airport by public transport was straightforward. Staff were really friendly and always ready to help. Two Metro stations nearby made exploring the city easy, and the location is fantastic. My only small gripe was that the room lighting felt dim. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Citadines Austerlitz Paris, stay on 28/04. I left feeling deeply upset and disappointed by what happened. When I arrived on April 28th, I felt I was treated differently because of my nationality. I watched European guests get a full explanation of the hotel's amenities, including the terrace and laundry. After the receptionist saw my Tunisian passport, his tone changed noticeably. He only told me that my room was on the fourth floor and that I had to pay the property tax. This was the first time I'd experienced this kind of treatment. I speak three languages fluently and work for a Fortune 500 company that values diversity and inclusion, so it was shocking and hurtful. The room was also appallingly dirty when I arrived. I went back to reception, where another staff member, a woman, kindly offered to move me. The second room was smaller and had no balcony, but at least it was clean. They offered a free breakfast for my wife and me as compensation, but I turned it down. A free meal can't undo the discrimination I felt, or how unwelcome I was from the moment I arrived. I won't return. I sincerely hope management acts to make sure every guest is treated equally, whatever their nationality. We all pay the same price and deserve the same respect.

The staff were really nice, and there's free coffee. For the price and location, it's a nice hotel, with a comfortable bed and a pleasant garden to relax in. The room was okay, though not especially clean. The bed and floor were clean, but there were stains on the curtains, mold in the refrigerator, some dusty patches and a strange smell in both the room and hallway. Bring your own soap, too. I hated the one they provided.

Rooms were as expected, with a small kitchen, and the staff were nice. Free coffee is a plus. As with this kind of hotel generally, room quality can vary a lot depending on how long it's been since the last renovation.
