City Residence PARIS SAINT-MAURICE

It was easy to get a taxi between central Paris and Saint-Maurice from this quiet area, and there were small shops nearby for groceries. The staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived. Our standard room was comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen, though there were no bowls. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, but the towels could have been cleaner and the lifts were unreliable at times.

After complaining to the manager in the morning, he refunded one night and offered free breakfast. He said the place would be cleaned that afternoon, but only the sitting area was done, not the kitchen or bedroom. We complained again the next morning, and he said it would be done that day. He was the only person trying to help, and eventually the room did get cleaned. Still, I wouldn’t recommend a long family stay. We booked four nights in the largest and most expensive T3 apartment, but the rooms and sitting area didn’t match the website photos. The building looked renovated but had no maintenance; the lift, floors and rooms were dirty. We found rubbish under the sofa bed, in the kitchen and inside cupboards. It seemed housekeeping only changed the sheets and towels. The passageway and floors were filthy.

Senior management, especially Alisa and Dominique, handled the broken extra bed well, apologized, and refunded its extra charge since we didn’t use it. I’m sorry if I’ve misspelled their names. I’d still appreciate an update about the trousers I left behind after checkout, worth €289. The hotel said it would check and call, but I heard nothing in two days. I’m flying back to India, so it’s too late now. I’m happy to pay courier charges. We stayed three nights and arrived at 5 PM after an 11-hour journey, only to have trouble with our prepaid booking. They said our 4-year-old couldn’t sleep with us and that we had to book another room. At first staff sent us to the booking agency instead of helping. After a long discussion, they gave us a bigger room for an extra €90, something they could have arranged earlier without all that stress. Management was helpful and professional, but the front desk staff, especially David, needs training in how to deal with guests travelling with children.

The room was more or less clean and came with towels and a kitchen. Breakfast was decent, though the choices for people with lactose intolerance were limited. There are nearby places to eat, a supermarket and a metro station. A nice place for Paris at a reasonable price.
