Hotel Le Clos d'Alesia

Breakfast was awful and expensive, so there are nice places nearby where you can avoid wasting your money. The hotel is very old and noisy. Expect to wake up when the first guest showers in the morning. The rooms were warm, but there was no way to turn off the heating. Shampoo and soap weren't replaced, even over my five-night stay. When I asked for more, I had to negotiate with the receptionist, who eventually gave me one extra sample of soap that had already been used.

We found bedbugs in the bed linen when we arrived. The front desk manager had been polite and helpful before we reported it, then became more and more hostile. He offered to move us to another room, but we weren't comfortable with that, since if one room had bedbugs, the others most likely did too. Even with photo and video evidence that the room was unclean and unfit to live in, he absolutely refused to refund us. Absolutely horrible, do not stay here. Stay only if you're comfortable bringing home some new pets.

The rooms are tiny, but for the price the place is worth considering. There's a convenience store nearby where you can buy what you need, and plenty of other useful amenities around the hotel. Staff are extremely helpful, and the front desk is open for check-in 24 hours.

The room was clean and had cute little decorations, though it was small. The hotel is handy for getting around, with the metro nearby and a Carrefour right across the street. The owner came across as friendly but wasn't very approachable or helpful, and wouldn't rent us equipment that wasn't already in the room. For a short, budget stay, the low rate makes it okay.
