Hôtel Darcet Paris

The location is excellent, with tourist attractions easy to reach and a metro station just steps away. The hotel isn’t five-star, but the service feels like it could be. The staff were kind and pleasant, and even though we didn’t speak the same language, they were very willing to help with whatever we needed. We really appreciated their help finding power adapters.

Reception staff were very helpful, recommending restaurants and keeping our luggage after checkout. We also liked having tea and coffee available in the ground-floor room. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower good. Good value for money.

The whole place had an eerie feel and came across more like a motel than a hotel. The window was broken, the wall paint was chipping, and the lighting was dim. It was inconvenient to leave the key at reception every time I went out, and the elevator was so tiny it could barely fit two people. The front desk staff weren’t very nice or helpful either.

Hotel Darcet was a good, affordable place to rest at the end of the day, which is what I want when traveling because I don’t spend much time in the room and dislike paying a big chunk of money for a hotel. It had my three necessities: safe, clean, and quiet. The room was impeccably clean, and the staff polite. It’s close to a metro station and Gare St Lazare, yet wonderfully quiet. You’d never guess you were in a major city.
