Drawing Hôtel

The location is hard to beat, just a five minute walk from the Louvre, with plenty of good food nearby. The lobby has an artsy feel and is a nice place to sit with wine or a cocktail. Staff were lovely and very polite, and Simon went out of his way to help us. The rooms were where things got complicated. Room 41 was small, which is understandable in central Paris, but the shower only gave us cold to lukewarm water even though the sink tap was hot. I mentioned it at reception in the morning, but we changed rooms before finding out if it had been fixed. After my sister joined us, we moved to room 22, a family room for three. The shower drained terribly, and we used three towels and a robe to deal with the water. It was nearly scalding, though after the freezing weather in Paris I could live with that. The room phone didn’t work, so I went downstairs to find Simon. He was attentive, arranged another room for me to shower in, and agreed that guests at a four star hotel shouldn’t have to do that. He said a plumbing technician was due at 8:30 the next morning. The thermostat also didn’t work, and the room was too warm with no air coming through. I was exhausted and already in pajamas, so I put up with it that night and planned to report back the next day. Update: They moved us to a much better room and offered several ways to make things right. Simon passed the problems on to the team and manager, and they dealt with them professionally and quickly. Technical issues can happen, but how they’re handled makes a difference. The Drawing Hotel staff made the stay fantastic. I’m giving five stars for the service, with one star off because the rooms felt small, the clear glass bathrooms were awkward for a family traveling together, and there was no mini fridge.

The location is amazing, but the rooms weren’t cleaned well. I paid 1.2k for three nights expecting good service and a good hotel. For two people, they gave us only one blanket, and we had to argue at reception to get another. We’d also asked for separate beds, but ended up sharing a bed meant for one person. We didn’t sleep for any of the three nights. I wouldn’t choose this again, and my expectations had been higher. Best, Ben

A party in the restaurant kept me, and apparently other guests too, from sleeping the night I stayed. Nobody answered the reception phone, so I went downstairs and found one person handling the front desk, the party catering, and hotel security. He was trying his best, but the place was a complete mess. It showed a real lack of respect for both guests and staff. The hotel seemed so understaffed that safety was compromised. Management should be ashamed, and grateful to the employees trying to hold things together with so little support. I won’t stay here again.

The rooftop bar was relaxed and comfortable, and the bartenders there were attentive and kind. I loved the atmosphere at Drawing Hotel, and everyone from reception to the kitchen and bar staff was incredibly sweet. The whole place felt adorable, and the stay was amazing. I’ll remember it for a long time and would love to come back.
