Hotel du Continent

The room was small but very clean, the bed was comfortable, and I liked the charming decor. As a travel agent, I stayed here while researching and traveling in Paris, and this little boutique hotel was a pleasant surprise. The front desk is staffed around the clock and everyone was friendly. I found it odd that guests are asked to leave their key card at the desk when heading out for the day. I didn’t try breakfast, so I can’t speak to the food. My early departure was rough, though: at 5:30 am there was no hot water for a shower, and I left feeling unclean. That’s why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, I’d recommend this cute place.

The staff were a lot of fun, so friendly and funny, and the hotel is close to major attractions and plenty of restaurants. Our family found the small rooms perfectly comfortable. It’s a great boutique hotel.

The location was the one bright spot, though the neighborhood didn’t feel especially clean either. Our room was dirty when we arrived, and the badly designed bathroom made things uncomfortable. They did move us to a different room eventually, but it took frustratingly long. For what we experienced, the price was much too high.

We had a clean, quiet room, although the curtains didn’t block out all the light. The lobby is cute, and being able to check in at 2pm was a nice perk compared with the usual 3pm elsewhere. Restaurants and shops are close by too.
