The rooms are clean, comfortable, and roomy enough for two. We stayed on the second floor facing the street, and it gets pretty noisy in the evenings and at night. There’s a police station around the corner and a hospital nearby, so there’s quite a lot going on. Earplugs are a good idea, and get decent ones. The hotel provides some, but they don’t do much to block the sirens. They should really install modern soundproof windows facing the street. Rooms overlooking the inner courtyard are much quieter, so light sleepers should ask for one. The higher street-facing floors may be quieter too, but I don’t know. The staff are very friendly and service-minded. Breakfast is nice and fairly priced at 13,5 Euros for the quality. The person refilling the buffet is very busy, so you might have to wait for some items if you come around 8.30-9.30. Hotel Louis Blanc is excellently located, just 50 meters from the “Louis Blanc” Metro station on the M7. It’s quick to reach central Paris, with options to change lines at places like “Stalingrad”, “Gare de L'est”, “Opera”, or “Châtelet”. From Gare du Nord, it’s a good 15-20 minute walk if you take the RER from Charles De Gaulle airport. Canal st. Martin is lively in the evening, with lots of young people eating, drinking wine, and chatting. There are plenty of restaurants, but don’t hang around late at night near Stalingrad or Gare de L'est. There are many homeless and poor people in the area. I’d come back to Hotel Louis Blanc anytime, but this time with my own earplugs or in a room facing the courtyard.
We’d stay here again if we came back to Paris. We were visiting by Eurostar for two nights of sightseeing, and the hotel was an easy walk from the main station, right beside a metro station. The room was very clean and had what we needed. We could ask for extra supplies like tea and milk cartons. A very friendly receptionist answered our questions and gave us recommendations at check-in, though I’m sorry I don’t know their name. Breakfast was continental, nicely laid out, and there was plenty available. The woman working there was helpful and friendly too. Thank you.
Fari at the front desk was friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and gave us some great suggestions for places to eat. The location is great, and the bathroom had been remodeled. Our room was clean and well kept, but smaller than I expected, with basic decor and a bit of a smell. It was okay for our one night, but I wouldn’t want to stay much longer.
The location is superb, and the room was pleasant enough, with adequate space, plenty of sunlight, and a street view. Cleanliness was acceptable. Amenities are a little limited: they didn’t offer complimentary slippers when we asked, so I assume toothbrushes, shavers, and similar things aren’t provided either. I had a pleasant stay. The reception area could perhaps be more spacious.
The service and breakfast were above average, and it was good value for the money. The hotel is very close to the Metro, though the road right in front is busy. The room was small but fine for two people and had been refurbished to a good standard.
