The owner stayed in regular contact and was friendly, and the fold-out sofa and beds were comfortable. The apartment is clean, spacious for this part of Paris, and stocked with the basics, including a washing machine, stove, cutlery, iron and board, towels, soap, and a TV with a Smartbox rather than a smart TV. It can sleep four, though the bedroom bed seems better suited to one couple plus two other adults. There’s a bakery across the street, with plenty of cafés, bars, and restaurants nearby. Rôtisserie Stévenot Montorgueil is about five minutes away, and its spareribs and chicken are excellent when fresh. The location is convenient, but a longer stay could get expensive. There’s some prostitution on the streets; the people seemed harmless, so I didn’t feel worried. It can be noisy on the first floor, with people passing the door and footsteps on the wooden floors above. Earplugs are provided. Also, light from the upstairs neighbor comes through the glass ceiling in the bedroom, and there’s no way to block it when they turn their light on.
