Hôtel Edouard 7 Paris Opéra

Breakfast was excellent, and the staff in that area were great. The room I first got was spacious, with a lovely view of the Opera, though its windows were very small because it was on the top floor. The rooms themselves are fine, but the old building has a small elevator and very narrow corridors. What upset me was being made to pay extra for traveling with our one-year-old. We stayed six nights, and Helene at reception insisted we upgrade, even though the hotel’s conditions say children under two stay free. They argued I had booked for two people and we were three, which doesn’t make sense to me if the baby is meant to stay free. We paid an extra 350 euro, 50 per night. The upgraded room had nothing for a baby, not even a bed, so we had one single bed for two in what they called a three-person room. Reception even tried to blame my travel agency, though the policy was clearly on the hotel website. If you’re traveling with a baby, check this with them beforehand so you don’t get the same nasty surprise.

The birthday touches for my mother, balloons, cake, and a card, made our stay really memorable. We’d booked a Junior Suite with an Opera view at Hotel Edouard 7 Paris Opéra for her birthday, and were surprised with an upgrade when we arrived. The suite was spacious, luxurious, and exceptionally clean. The reception team were both professional and friendly. They walked us to the room, explained the amenities, then called later to check that we were comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of options, and everyone on staff was kind and accommodating. The hotel is in an excellent location, too. We had a fantastic two-night stay and I’d highly recommend it.

The people here made the biggest impression. The young Bellboys/Doormen, Front Office team, especially the morning shift, breakfast staff, and housekeeping were all amazing. Helpful, kind, and easy to communicate with. Thanks to the leadership for putting together such a great team. I’d rate the staff 9/10, and I’d stay here again. Breakfast was good enough, 8/10, though they could add more halal meat options. Cleanliness gets 8/10. Room 202 faces the street and has generous space, except for the toilet room, which is only about 1-1.5 square meters and very narrow. The toilet and shower/bathtub are in separate rooms. The drapes also let in too much light for someone who can only sleep in complete darkness.

We had a great breakfast, and all the staff were pleasant, welcoming, and happy to help with requests. The location was a real plus, with The Opera, The Louve and plenty of dining options within walking distance. We’d definitely come back.
